Introducing the Magic Lantern firmware for the Canon 5D Mark II. I read that too, but then I've seen this on the release page: You could probably run audio through a mixer into the 5D2 and have pretty good results. I read them as saying that audio gain is fixed. It's going to be really interesting to see how Canon tries to put a stop to this.

Now I just have to figure out how to adjust the manual microphone gain Okay ECF and shiftable DEP mode would be way cool. The only hack I'd really like to have is the 920,000 pixel LCD transplanted into my 5D. If you've read one Magic Lantern Guide, you've read them all. I love Magic Lantern Guides: they take all the info in the manual, translate it into wordy and awkward English, add bad stock pictures, toss in a generic photography primer and sell it all at a hefty price.

I've been thinking of just getting a external Zoom H4N recorder for my audio. definitely something to follow as it evolves. Hacking cameras seem to be the wave of the future. I was thinking of the books that they used to sell that taught you how to use your camera. It's one of those that the camera has the posiblities, but canon will open them up on their next body release when they were in the current body all along. Cool I hope canon or other people keep hacking the firmware to open all the posiblities this camera has.
